AFI+™ stands for Autologous Fibroblasts Injection.It's a skin rejuvenation therapy based on the replenishment of fibroblasts lost with age.

Botox is a toxin which blocks signals from the nerves to the muscles. The injected muscle can't contract and wrinkles relax and soften. Despite having no rejuvenation effect on the skin, it also gives an « unnatural » and « frozen » appearance.

Hyaluronic acid and collagen are the skin components responsible for young and healthy skin appearance. In aging skin, the content of these important components is considerably decreased and, for this reason, their injection from outside can improve the skin condition and appearance. However, such an effect only last for a short-term since the used preparations of hyaluronic acid and collagen are synthetic and therefore they are allogenic for the body and, for this reason, they are rapidly destroyed and released from the body.

The AFI+™ therapy solves the problem of skin aging by using the absolutely different approach: patient's own fibroblasts are injected into the skin and these fibroblasts naturally and intensively produce all the components that are necessary for the skin youth, including hyaluronic acid and collagen, and they do this for a long time.

PRP, like AFI+™ is based on autologous cell injection, but the main difference is that in PRP, blood cells are injected into the skin instead of skin cells. The main effect of PRP doesn’t come from the cells but from the growth hormone present in the plasma which stimulate the growth of fibroblast. Because of that, the effect of PRP is only temporary because blood cells get quickly removed from the skin (where they do not belong) and hormone effect only last for a few days.

Contrary to fillers, AFI+™ is a biological and natural solution to skin aging and doesn’t have immediate effect. After injection, fibroblast will start migrating to their right place in the dermis of the skin, divide and then differentiate into their productive stage to rebuild the skin matrix. This process takes several months and results usually appear between 3 to 6 months after injection.

Rejuvenation of the skin with AFI+™ has been shown to last much longer than any other treatment, up to five years after injection.

Once cells are cultured and prepared for injection, we can keep some frozen in liquid nitrogen for future injection. These younger cells will be put back in culture if a second (or more) injection is needed years later.
